It would be really, really, really nice to have the nightly builds distributed in a Maven2 repository. This would make it so much easier to get hold of patches and new functionality.

This probably won't happen any time soon. Our snapshot repository is a custom upload type that just isn't going to be accessible unless the build is based on Maven.

So I was wrong this is *almost* possible. I've got the code in my sandbox to make it work, but it's going to need to wait on a release of the maven ant tools (probably 2.0.7). See this maven issue for details: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MANTTASKS-72

For anyone waiting for this functionality and wondering where to get nightly builds in the meantime, find them here: http://static.springframework.org/downloads/nightly/snapshot-download.php?project=SPR
